Tejas is a 45 years old technology. As an old technology it has its share of shortcomings. On the other hand, JF-17 is a new technology and hasn't met any accident yet.

No, India doesn't have money, or it's not enough. The Indian Air Force needs to buy Rafale, Su-57, C-130. Radar, engine, missile... The Indian Navy needs to buy gas turbines, carrier based aircraft, radar... The Indian Army needs to buy rifles, bullets, artillery, tanks.... If the Indian military wants to maintain combat capability. All critical weapons and equipment must be imported...
