For present Indians I think its a combination of their view of Parsis and their belief that Iranians are Parsis only who were forcibly converted to Islam bit were originally agni poojaks.

only ever met a handful, last was, I think I mentioned, a music group in Arambol.. they were all the rage some years ago for a season or 2.. Oud, drums, DJ, singing some exotic *&*&*&*&.. very nice crew of people, didn't talk politics the little interaction I had with em but nice folk.. im guessing atheist type bandey.. full smoking etc, you know how it goes there..
