Things are indeed quite dire across the fence.

As I said in another post, industry hi nahi hai unki koi.. and hai, to batao.. pleaj tellings.

Agri hai, some animal husbandry,
crops > cotton,
fruit > mango mostly, some berries

most still riding early 80s type 100cc commuter bikes, auto bhi nahi hai, Chinese maal import kar rahe full, barely any production.

mining ka bolte rehde, in Balochistan rare earths trying something.

all powerful miltree haegi, buss

baaki they fuss, nothing of proper scale to speak of.

You are right. Even the agricultural sector is long due for reforms. Too much feudalism, low yields, farmers cant sell their produce at a good price.

Pakistan is essentially a security state for better or for worse.

Pakistan is very similar to Egypt. Military controlled, but the Pakistani military is much better equipped, smarter, pack more of a punch and have to deal with tougher neighbours.

Yes you can say the Pakistan Armed Forces are more "strategically agile" considering their complex regional role.

But Its always have been my belief that military should have no role in running of the country. They performed extremely in recent conflict, so they have their own saving graces too.

Our agri yields are very low compared to the global average.

Saim aur thor ka menace has devastated the entire seraiki belt with uncontrolled use of fertilizer and turned rich farm land soils toxic.

We gotta bring in Monsanto and the likes to prevent further damage.

Planting the same crop annually/ not rotating and the liberal use of fertilizer/ gross mismanagement and using outdated post WW2 seed varieties are not cutting it anymore.

So many other issue like the depletion of the water table, stubble burning and ten other issues.
