Clearly mental case...very sad.

Calling this monstrous criminal "a mental case" will take the guilt off him and prevent justice from taking place. We should not turn a grave crime into "a mental case." There will be no need for a court of law if every horrible killer is tagged as a person with a mental health condition.

My calling this a mental case was not to absolve him of his criminal intent.

It was just speculation on why he may have done it. If one is sane - they cannot do something like this. Hence - insane.

In any case - I should not have speculated.

Let the police and the judicial system do their job on finding out why he took all these lives when they were nothing but nice to him.

I understand your point of view. It is not always easy to accept crimes of this scale to be the work of a fully healthy person. However, I have long experience with dealing with otherwise healthy people who were doing wrongful things.
