I don't think they were organisers. Organisers have the right to decide on entry. The guy who disallows is organizer/ incharge of event.

What you say is right but the difference is this. If a Hindu does that, almost all Hindus will oppose/ Criticize it. If a Muslim does that, all Muslims except few will support it.

I happen to be a Muslim and have origins in Bangladesh.

95% of Bangladeshi Muslims will oppose this sinajuri.

You being a Hindu - cannot predict behavior on behalf of Muslims.

This is blatant typecasting. Not all Muslims (even devout Muslims that I know) are for deciding conservative clothing for women.

Women decide what clothing they will wear - not men.

No one is talking about slutty clothing for women here, just liberal vs. conservative clothing.

I have no sympathies for Ghatia Luddite people who want to take their country back hundreds of years just so they can bring back Brahmin or Taliban rule.

No idea wth was going on. Rishikesh is a spiritual town, yoga etc ka bhot scene hai.. foreign travelers bhit jaate hain for learning yoga, meditation, other spirituality waaley courses, lotsa hippie types in one part across the Laxman Jhula bridge.. goras generally stay in that area but are cognizant of the fact that it is a spiritual place.. tameez se he rehte hain, no bikini or etc allowed on the ghats... but river beaches hain.. spots alightly away where you can chill... Haridwar same story

The rest, and most of the town, as you can well imagine is frequented by pilgrims.. so obviously conservative type teerth sthal hai.
