Thinking of self-reliance is very good but making something reliable which can defend the country against any formidable enemy is very difficult to make. A nation should start investing into it in terms of Money, manpower, research and other factors of production with a long-term vision to achieve that.

Bangladesh has a long term plan but it doesn't have enough R/D facilities at the moment. We need help from a friendly and reliable partner to establish adequate number of R/D facilities and develop skilled manpower. China and Turkey are helping Bangladesh in this regard.

What BD should do is to build competition in Niche segment of low tech area and gradually build competence in other area. That is the way to deal in highly competitive environment where big players are present. What I stated is the best case scenario. BD seems nowhere near achieving the same.

We have everything of our own what we quoted. We are not copy cat like China who always want to steal designs so that they can build a product around stolen design. They problem is that inspite of all stealing, they make very bad things.

India claims itself as a "superpower".

Despite such claims, it has failed to provide Bangladesh under Hasina any sort of solid high tech armament.

Which is not surprising because India itself is the largest arms importer globally.

Bangladesh had no choice except to purchase cost effective armament from China.

China has proven to be an all-weather friend and military supplier to Bangladesh.

Reverse engineering is not a crime if you can improve on a design. The Russian SU 30 was refined as the J16 in China and is far more modern compared to the SU 30.

Why blame China when Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and even Russians reverse-engineered stuff all the time. That is how they built foundations of their arms industry.

The point is - the reverse-engineered end product has to work and work well.

If India is unable to do even that, that is a rather poor excuse for inability.
