One thing rhat is clearly off the table is for IA to train Afghans as professional fighting forces.

Thats been tried and has never worked.

We need to think out of the box and

1) Help the Afghans fight the Afghan way. Material. Intelligence. Air/artillery/rocket/missile support. Deep SF raids. Engagement and suppression of PA outposts. Feints and decoys. Engineers and Signals. Medical and frontline surgical.

2) Strategic placement of Indian assets for the above. Bagram airbase possibility for stationing our air assets. Mountain batteries. Possible hardened underground shelters and tunnels for missile and ordnance storage. Drone cities.

Tweet not opening for me. Is this the usual low grade stuff or something more dhamakedar? It's been happening for a long time. The Talibs can't stay without regular fighting. They will go insane. They have said so themselves. It's just to let off some steam.

I share the Pakistani cynicism that these guys cannot be trusted. They are also opportunistic.

Many in Afghanistan battle hardened

culture hi poora warrior wala hai, extremely tribal

buss dhoka ni dena unko, biggest sin ever

cant be pulling the old '...bagal me chhoori' trick with that crew

of all the wars, operation Enduring Freedom ki sabse zyadabooks I read (4 - 5 anyway)

very strongly and deeply rooted warrior culture there, big league

lotsa afeemchi chewtias harami p3do, those aside.. atithi devo namah un se seekho

they had ZERO role in 9/11, nor enmity with the Murricans' .. in fact friendship hi thi, Rambo waali

but Osama was their guest, US didn't give proof ki he done it, they refused to hand him over.. coz he was their god damn guest.

Marcus Luttrell ki book reading karo, made a movie too.. and that guy, I've posted more than once about him at the old place.. Jim Gant, Lawrence of A-stan.. insane !

A-stan people are not a nation, they're a bunch of tribes scattered across what they call A-stan..

as fascinating as it is tragic, their story.

and we're (India) in bed with at least a section of them..

It's not just about the Afghan front.

I am talking of larger picture.

All it's neighbours are doing bamboo to Pakistan.

India on Eastern border.

Afghanistan on Western border.

Iran on South-Western border.

China in the form of CPEC.

This is wishful thinking at the moment. What might happen though is that their forces will be expecting trouble and will be more thinly spread. This is nothing new for them though. It has been going on for quite some time.

How is China a threat through CPEC ?

Iran ain't going to get involved
