Ram katha is - Manekshaw did not want to fight Pakistan Army knee deep in the mud.
Monsoon season in Bangladesh means all manners of fighting equipment is unusable. Period.
This has always been the situation and advantage for East Bengalis.
Pakistan Army was stuck in their cantonments for months on end.
Rain and frogs and mud and leeches. Then you try to move equipment/men and get ambushed.
Manekshaw knew that - and told Madam that much. They had to wait until December when things dried up.
