Bangladesh really does not need anything from India, it can import foodstuffs from any country in the world.

It is India that is begging Bangladesh to buy its potatoes, onions and Chawal which it cannot sell in the global market because of glut and low quality.

Do you understand the meaning of the English word "purchase"?

It means we paid money when we "decided" to accept Indian offer for rice.

If we need to buy with MONEY, it does not make us beggars. Clearly you have problems with comprehension.

Rice is purchased via govt. tenders, your businesspeople in India put in lowest offers, which were accepted (I'd say generously) by Bangladesh Govt. even after all the sordid History with Hasina whom Modi supported with her criminal oppression. There were entire RAW staff offices within Bangladesh who carried out oppression activities for Hasina .

Modi also tried to put in export bans on some goods (Potatoes, Onions) to Bangladesh after Hasina's ouster, which obviously did not work. We turned around and imported from Pakistan, from Turkey and Egypt. India is treading on thin ice, keep doing this laughable "punishment" BS and there will be total ban on Indian imports.

We have the option to buy from anywhere - but our govt. accepted Indian offer to buy rice, because the shipping is via land (truck) and lead time is low. Bangladeshis are being practical in this case, not just being boycott-hounds.

People in Bangladesh still have not abandoned the idea of Indian goods boycott on other goods.

An Indian goods boycott will harm Indian economy way more than it will the Bangladesh economy. Buying something does not make a buyer "weak".

It seems English words have new meaning in India.
