In a world where Bollywood dreaming is cheap (Rs. 134 for 3 hours) such things are possible. But not in reality. India is no different than Bangladesh or Pakistan.

Don't drag India down to your BD Pak level to feel good about yourself. India is for BD what US is for Mexicans.

I am talking about total GDP because that is what dictates the military expenditure ballpark. Indian GDP in 2015 with respect to US GDP PPP was 7/18. Today it is 18/30. Wrt China it was also 7/18, and today it is 18/40. You are free to do the math about closing gap.

I think the feel good is on the part of some Sanghis in India - fed by Godi propaganda. It's OK - delusion is delusion, no matter what you call it.

While Gujarat and Maharashtra may do slightly better than Bangladesh - BIMARU states are horribly deficient compared to Bangladesh in all aspects. Those cow-belt states are dragging India down.

Leave Pakistan - what you think of Bangladesh (per your propaganda) is so far from reality.

As of 2024, Bangladesh's "manufacturing-value-added" accounts for approximately 21.89% of its GDP, while India's manufacturing value added is around 13% of its GDP. Bangladesh is far more industrialized compared to India than most Indians think it is.

India will remain a poor agrarian state dependent on China, instead of being a manufacturing powerhouse like your Vishwa guru claims. That will take a long time to change. No amount of token PLI scheme or vote-getting Make-In-India propaganda will change this.

No one cares about the nameless and faceless poor in India (agrarian BIMARU states) because it doesn't sound catchy on media declarations.

Military spend is related to per capita GDP nominal income - which is roughly the same for both Bangladesh and India.

As of 2023 - Bangladesh's nominal GDP per capita was approximately $2,621, while India's is around $2,612, making Bangladesh slightly ahead of India in this metric. This marks a significant shift, as Bangladesh has surpassed India in per capita GDP for the past four years. This remains the same for India and Bangladesh as countries, and varies within a few dollars, up and down.

Bangladesh has deliberately put a cap on military spend for the last two decades, but this is changing. This was never a priority for Bangladesh.

The focus for Bangladesh as a bottom-up economy was always to provide low income people with industrial jobs, which was never the focus in Brahmin-run Godi India. As a nation India primarily helps its rich top-tier Brahmins capitalize from the economy and benefit from excessive military spend. The upper-middle-class in India benefit from back office and technology service jobs, which is now in doubt.

In spite of this - one has to consider if per capita income is being distributed equally or not and amount of disparity between rich and poor. Bangladesh is still lagging behind India considering these factors.

Bangladesh is also still lagging behind India in other economic aspects such as central bank reserves, inflation, export diversification, infrastructure spend and investments. We still have a long way to go.

However - Bangladesh is ahead of India in terms of women empowerment. One in every three women in Bangladesh is working while one in every five women is doing a job in India.

Of the total working population of Bangladesh, 35 per cent are women. More than 25 million women are currently in the workforce in Bangladesh. Women make up 23 per cent of the workforce in India and this is unfortunately decreasing.

As a society - Bangladesh is far more progressive and equitable to all members.

Not only in economic indicators, Bangladesh is also doing well in social aspects.

The average life expectancy in Bangladesh is approximately 75 years, while in India it is around 67 years. This indicates that people in Bangladesh tend to live about 8 years longer than those in India.
