BNS Osman is the first missile guided frigate bought from China in 1989. In 2007, BNS Osman went through upgrades by installing new anti ship missile and data link. Most probably BNS Osman has been sent to retirement recently. A new frigate will be procured as a replacement.

Ruhul Amin was a naval officer who laid down his life to free Bangladesh. BNS Shoibal is a minesweeper bought by Bangladesh navy from Royal navy. Ruposhi Bangla is a cool looking ship of Bangladesh navy.

These are Bangladesh navy ships bought from Royal Navy in the 90s. I don't know their current status though.

These are Bangladesh navy ships bought from Royal Navy in the 90s. I don't know their current status though.

The Island class OPVs and the Castle class Guided Missile Corvettes which followed them, have not been scrapped or broken up I believe and are still in BN service.

Though the Island class vessels (BNS Turag et al, 6 in BN service out of 7 built of this class for the Royal Navy) are getting pretty long in the tooth, being built in 1977. Nonetheless, they are very reliable training ships (ex Royal Navy) and as such will see some service in that role in BN.

This is BNS Sangu P713 (ex HMS Guernsey) below patrolling the Bay of Bengal on fisheries patrol with one of her sister Island class OPVs before the expansion of our longer range off shore Coast Guard fleet with Leader class patrol vessels (also shown below).
