In my family, if one makes less than 100K USD, he is considered good for nothing. No one takes him/her seriously. So, there is pressure from the family side to improve education and income. It all depends on the kind of family. lol

Pakistani Americans are pretty prominent, more so than most Pakistani-oversea communities.

True. A lot of Pakistanis do not know this fact. We live a better life than American Whites, even Jews.
Because they are better educated.

Don't know what I can say about Pakistani Canadians though. Most are well educated.

My uncle in Ottawa is a Chartered Accountant with his Palestinian Muslim wife. lol.

Life in America depends on the will and education of the person because the sky is the limit, unlike in Europe. All of my close family members from Islamabad who live in the US have studied there, and all have at least a US bachelor's degree ( kids). Others have Ph. D.s, like my wife, who has a Ph.D. and two MSs. We have a big Pakistani community with professionals where we live in Florida. I have friends in Canada who have Canadian degrees, and they are also doing great. Education pays off in America. I lived in the UK/Germany for quite a long time, and there, the opportunity is very limited, especially if one is not "white European" with a European last name.

Not jobless. The pay is low in the UK compared to what I wanted. In my profession, the low pay is different than other professions, of course. It may not be low for other professions. They are unfair on promotions too. I have been living outside Pakistan for 35 years. USA is the perfect mix for me and my family.

I heard Muslims who have faced hate crimes in USA. But I also heard many who have done very well in USA.

For me, the standard of living is excellent in Canada.
