LOL! Sorry you are wrong. You are confusing WWW/ HTML/HTTP with the Internet

The Internet has been around longer than HTML and is far more than HTML.
Sorry mate, there might be truth to your arguments, but for public use it was invented in Switzerland, not USA mate.

I'm not expecting you to understand how the Internet works but just because someone writes a pretty WWW page doesn't mean you can see it. The page has to be put on the Internet for others to see it. There's far more going on than just a pretty page of text.

You are entitled to your opinion. But I go with what is common knowledge, and common sense tells us the Internet for public use was invented in Switzerland.

USA may have used it for military purposes, but it was really invented in Switzerland. you cannot beat around the bush on this one.

do people have to pay China to use gunpowder, the compass, or paper?

Anyways ICANN runs it.
This is exactly what I m saying, the gunpower, paper and compass were invented by China but not all of them now are Chinese products.
The OP title "buy" means paying money.

The Web is like Microsoft Word. It's just one app running on a far bigger system.

There's email.
There's VPN's.
There's streaming media.
There's instant messaging
There's FTP

All of these are "apps" running on the Internet independent of the Web.

I was thinking about purchasing a SONY BRAVIA T.V.

But I might buy a Hisense instead if it is more affordable than overpriced Japanese products.

I just browsed the Hisense Singapore website and found some Oled models that cost the same as Sony’s mini Leds. LG Oleds are also reasonably priced compared to Sony, in case you prefer Oled too.

I don't blame Hisense having the same price as SONY BRAVIA. They are trying hard to compete with them.
No, what I intended to say is that Hisense’s Oled TV is as affordable as Sony’s mini Led TV, but Oled surpasses mini Led in terms of contrast and having deeper black levels. If you’re thinking of purchasing one, I recommend you check out for Oled instead of mini Led, or you can wait for micro Led, but it will be very pricey.

Oh paee......unless yous lookin for a gaming laptop or high end gaming desk top......I'm very happy wid my $300 Chuwi laptop here in Japan. Within a few years any laptop becomes junk anyway. Technology is advancing exponentially fast now. What was high end expensive last year is affordable mediocre today no? Thank you China.

Support China, buy Chinese products. Don't buy overpriced American sh it products.

@BEIJINGWALKER

Interesting... So is this thread aimed at the average consumer in Pakistan or internationally? I only ask this because I can see some glaring flaws in this argument of "buy China and not America".

For starters Huawei's much lauded Harmony OS is 16 years too late. Secondly Huawei has exited the US and Canadian Market[1], now purchasing Huawei's budget smartphones which boast amazing batter life, form factor and powerful sensors comes at a price. Those running the MediaTek's MT6582 come with a backdoor pre-installed... So much for your privacy lol

Now on the off chance that you do purchase an Honor, Huawei that runs android, you may wish to utilise the Google Play store to you know download apps? I mean that is the whole purpose of smartphones right? Well guess again, there have been numerous reports by users reporting that Honor, Huawei and other Chinese manufactured phones are flasly flagging Google and Google Play store apps as "Malware" and "Trojans"[2]

Thirdly, if you look beyond all this. You claim "Buy China and show your middle finger to the US", don't you find it strange that despite Huawei, Xiomi, Honor etc, Apple remained the top selling phone in China for 2023?[3]
