Crossword puzzles, Needlepoint, Sewing, RC drones, Painting, Sculpture, Photography....anything creative.

Or spend time on this forum learning defence technology.

At least you have a real creation to be proud of (and/or enriching your knowledge) at the end of the day.

Which is what human beings were designed to do - leave/share creativity/knowledge for others to admire.
