There is absolutely no hatred for Bangladeshi Hindus in BD. They are our brothers and sisters. As are Hindus from West Bengal. The same blood flows in our veins. Religions are secondary.
Because of Modi and Amit Shah deriding comments on Bangladeshis (and generally stepmotherly treatment) - there is definitely disappointment. We know these are vote getting tactics in India but these are (to Bangladeshis) cheap shots.
Bangladesh (the largest importer of cotton globally) will be looking for alternate sources of cotton imported from India, which is roughly 25% of total cotton imports for Bangladesh. If India is sidelined for cotton imports, Indian exporters will suffer.

We are aiming to export around [2.8 million] bales of cotton globally, out of which [2 million] bales will be sent to Bangladesh aloneโ in the 12 months ending in September, Atul Ganatra, president of the Cotton Association of India told Al Jazeera.
Bilateral trade relations between India and Bangladesh have been drastically affected due to the current violence.

I am always amused to hear Indian commenters' reports about Bangladesh being 'dependent' on some Indian export or the other. In International business, there is no 'dependency'. Bangladesh can import cotton from anywhere, China, Pakistan, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, even the USA. Cotton especially, is a commodity item, with prices largely stabilized.
Indian media commenters somehow want to prove how dependent Bangladesh is on India.
It is not. Buyers are never "dependent" on sellers. They are free to buy from anywhere.
