"China-Bangladesh Golden Friendship 2024" Military Excercise
Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the Indian external affairs ministry, said: "Regarding your questions about joint military exercise, as you heard me speak about it several times from this podium, we keep a close watch on all developments that happen in our neighborhood and beyond, which impact our interests, economic interests, and security interests, and we take appropriate measures accordingly."

As Bangladesh and China are set to hold their first joint military exercise, India says it will keep a 'close watch' on the training as it does in case of other developments in the region.
Bangladesh and China armies will hold joint military exercises for the first time next month, Chinese authorities announced on Thursday. Reacting to the report, India's Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson said India would monitor the exercise. China and India are competing for supremacy in South Asian countries, China's Xinhua news agency and Indian news agency PTI reported on Thursday.

Chinese Defense Ministry spokesman Senior Colonel Wu Qian announced at a press conference that as per the consensus between the two militaries, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) will send a team to Bangladesh in the first half of next month for joint military exercises.

The joint exercise, "China-Bangladesh Golden Friendship 2024," will be conducted in accordance with the principles of counter-terrorism operations by UN peacekeepers.
Colonel Wu Qian said the militaries of the two countries will conduct joint training in mixed groups on bus hijacking and elimination of terrorist camps. "This first-ever joint training between the Chinese and Bangladeshi militaries will enhance mutual understanding and friendship, and deepen practical exchanges and cooperation," Colonel Wu Qian said.

China has invested more than $25 billion in various projects in Bangladesh. This is the second highest in the South Asian region after Pakistan. China has also improved defence ties with Dhaka by supplying Bangladesh with war tanks, naval frigates, missile boats, fighter jets and military equipment. India is worried.

The CS/AA3 system is a complex assembly consisting of the twin anti-aircraft gun, a generator trailer for power, and a fire control unit (FCU) with an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU). Organized into batteries and companies, the system is designed for dense air defense with a regiment typically comprising two companies. This setup involves at least 18 vehicles per company, including guns, generators, fire control vehicles, and trucks for logistics support, creating a formidable air defense network.

Operational efficiency is achieved with a three-member crew per gun, enabling automatic operation with target tracking and firing managed by the FCU. A failsafe gunner is always present, with additional crew for ammunition replenishment.

The CS/AA3, a licensed variant of the Oerlikon GDF-006, represents a significant upgrade over its predecessor, capable of using NORINCO's AHEAD ammunition variant. It boasts enhancements such as a Ka-band tracking radar for improved anti-ECM capabilities, an upgraded phased array search radar, and an integrated electro-optic sensor set. Designed to engage targets up to 4,000 m away, it ensures a critical defense against aerial threats with a versatile ammunition system, including the effective Norinco 35 mm Programmable Time Fuze Pre-fragmented (PTFP) round.

This system plays a pivotal role in Bangladesh's air defense strategy alongside QW-18A VSHORAD and FM-90 SHORAD systems, acting as a last line of defense against aircraft, missiles, and loitering munitions. The 57 Air Defence Regiment Artillery of the 10 Infantry Division, located at Ramu, has been enhanced with the CS/AA3 SHORAD gun to fortify air defense capabilities along the southern border with Myanmar.

This induction not only demonstrates the Bangladesh Army's ongoing efforts to strengthen its defensive capabilities but also highlights the strategic importance of maintaining a robust and modern air defense system to safeguard national security interests.

They should be worried , because project akhanda bharat is under serious threat! Perhaps they are now worried about chicken neck!

But should BNP be worried as well? Bhai @Saif , What say you? 🤔

@Vikings bhai glad to see you here. Hope the rest of the old Pakistani and Bangladeshi gang gets here as well.

We will control the amount of trolling here hopefully. I am committed to this.

Ziaur Rahman was the only leader after the independence who had forged a deep military to military relation between Bangladesh and China. So, the upcoming military exercise between Bangladesh and China should not worry BNP rather it will make BNP happy because such military exercise with China would cut down Indian influence in our armed forces.

The armed forces should purchase strategic long range guided weapons, instead of a few AA guns here and a couple of drones there.

There should be a concerted plan to gain some degree of serious deterrence, which makes our arm-twisters think twice. Pakistan is an example in this regard. If a strategic deterrence plan already exists, I don't see any outward signs.

Airbases and sub-bases keep being built - but we also have done goof ups like allowing Indians to establish anti-Chinese VLF radar on Bangladesh soil. We do not need to capitulate this much to Indian (and RAW) whims.
