And they preach about haram and halal bs, no wonder Iranian are less religious now. I think this is a good thing for Iranian society to the true nature of religion. To me all Abrahmic religions are the same, very dangerous and manipulative.

I would agree how manipulatable they are. But at the end religion also brings a social order, something human have needed since the dawn of their existence.

Exactly! there was an article recently that with just the SCO nations alone Iran's doing $37 billion in annual business. And I bet you money they are under reporting that figure. My estimate tells me Iran's easily making a $100 billion annually (quite possible $130 billion or so), despite sanctions. Just with UAE/ Iraq/ Turkey/ Afghanistan/ Pakistan they are doing another $40 to $50 billion annually or so. And then the Mashad Ziarat business bhai.......That's all bonus! Keeping roughly a couple hundred thousand armed militia's on standby is big bucks! Israel is in a lot of trouble and Iran's basically laid siege on it. Daily 10 or 20 Israeli are getting killed/ injured in a country with only 7 million hollywood population.....lol.......I don't even believe Iran's lifted its finger yet. Mr Khamenei probably understands that if he dismantles the cosmopolitan/ metrosexual hably bably Al-Yahuda Star Wars/ Soopurr man/ Batman state of Israel, no hillbilly would ever talk to the Iranians again. They'd treat Iran worse than they treat North Korea or Talibunnies.

The solution is to support Iranian freedom fighters inside Iran and help them overthrow the mullah regime and terminate the nuclear weapons program.

Such a revolution would also inspire Pakistanis and maybe even Arab states.

I would like to visit Iran. But the Iranian foreign policy is so messed up. Their government is also very sectarian.

These days, religions bring more chaos, as we have seen on our western border. Jinnah was lucky that he died before his Dominion of Pakistan became an Islamic Republic run by fanatics and generals.

Personally I believe Pakistan should be an Islamic country, otherwise what was the point of partition?
If you want to live in a "secular" country you can go right to India then.

There was no partition since the British Raj was not a country, just a mere colony. Nobody calls the desolation of British North America, which included Canada & America as "partition."

The other thing is religion is a part of human psyche. People tend to confuse it with theism, not realizing it is just a mere example of religion.

For example Marxism is also a religion, just not theistic. Many communist countries persecuted and killed people suspected of being affiliated with theism or simply being opposed to Marxist ideology.

Now in Western countries we can see with the decline of Christianity, new religions such as environmentalism, veganism and holocaust worship are taking it's place.

None of them seem to be progressive and even counter beneficial. So religion is here to stay.

To understand the effects of religion, we have to study human psychology, sociology and related topics. Theology does not help in this regard.

It's a common belief system shared amongst humans. Whether those beliefs are right or wrong or particularly right or wrong does not matter.

Humans as a social species are driven by a common set of values and habits and held together on these basis, wheather right or wrong.

That has defined our social/psychological characteristics as a species since probably the dawn of our existence.
