If EO cameras could detect and track incoming missiles with reaction times fast enough for this. Other navies would have figured it out by now.

Are computers controlling the guns with targeting data coming from the eo cameras or are people controlling the guns based on what they see on monitors from the cameras?
If computers are controlling the guns, would the reaction time not be sufficient?

Gents, you remember what happened to the huge Russian Slava class battle cruiser the capital ship of da black sea fleet? with a couple of $2 million dollar Neptune missiles?.......My ghaadd!........every man and his cat learned a lesson from dat disaster from last year. If yous a big ol capital ship.......yous goin down!......Slava cruiser got hit the 4th time around. It beat 3 prior attempts to sink it earlier, but fourth time around unlucky no? Tanguska/ Kashtan Ak-103 systems failed to detect stealthy Neptune AshM's......Iran can pull same stunt in da red sea no problem, but mulla holding back just playing hollywood filumm no?....letting Hoosi Baghi use obsolete weaponry for theatrical effects and global ghareeb muslim get excited......lol.

I find it extremely unlikely that it can function as an CIWS then.

Maybe two separate radars is a bit of an overkill on Gökdeniz but it goes to show you that it takes a lot more to be effective.

If the ship has an integrated combat system ( I read somewhere that they actually do) the ships main search radar will hand over the track report of the incoming missile to the EO processor which will swing the gun towards the threat direction and starts tracking the incoming missile via EO ..in this last phase there is no difference in speed of tracking..

The drawback of EO is not in traking speed but in the shorter range that it can start tracking..so with radar CIWS you get to start tracking the incoming missile much sooner and hence more time to eliminate it and further away from the ship..
It seems that the Turkish CIWS has its own search and track radars (two radars)..

Ps: Combat architectures do all these calculations and hence I trust they have done that and figured the guns can do some good..lol

Yeah the twin radar setup probably has something to do with the fact that Gökdeniz uses 35mm airburst ammo that explodes near the incoming missile, being effective at much longer range than classic Phalanx or Sea Zenith type systems that rely on directly hitting the incoming threat.

Still the lack of radars on Iranian ships is a bit concerning

Depends on a lot of things, like if the cameras are fast enough, if their sensors are cooled well enough to be on all the time, if, and this is key they are looking at the right direction, I think this is why they had to use 4 of them on a single ship.

What can you tell us about the combat management systems on these ships?

Not much..This is the big "Black" box of the Iranian ships and aircraft that is so important and no info is available on it...All I know is that the Admiral of Iranian Regular navy once said our Latest corvett "DAYLAMAN" is fully integrated..

To have an Integrated Combat system you need foremost the RADAR which is missing subsystem on most Iranian new ships. You also need (as you mentioned) a Combat Management System (millins of line of code) to handle the Data between subsystems...In Iran I have never read any info on this system (part of the black box)

Note: missing Radar indicates that Integrated combat system is not functional in these ships (YET) and they have become operational with weapons on "stand alone" (which is not much in this day and age)..but IRGC guys do not operate like other regular navies...sooooooooooo your guess is as good as mine..lol
