Short Summary: Iranian tourists were heckled by Hindutva when they mistakenly offered Namaz in a shrine near east gate of Taj Mahal
I ate Iranian food - it was bland. Tasteless. Afghan & Turkish @LegionnairE Food had a much more taste.
I had Afghan food in some local joints and the items are near identical to Iranian cuisine with some Pakistani items.

Same Koobideh meat skewers, same polau and same Ghormeh Sabzi. Nothing specific Afghani that I could taste.

Maybe because the client base for that restaurant are mostly Persians.

In one of the function in our house, we had kept one dish named Paneer Afghani.

All the good Irani restaurants bring out a cheese olives and fresh herbs platter served with a fresh naan.

That right there half fills you.

ME food is very healthy with lots of fresh herbs/ salads and roasted vegetable/ chick pea/ beans/ dips and extra virgin olive oil.

All their foods are healthy and great accompaniments/ pair with good wines and are popular all over the world.

Indian/ Pakistani khanay koi ne khata bhai.

Desi food is tasty but very unhealthy.

Not all desi food is that way but I get the point about the butter chicken and karma's, and the mithais of north Indian restaurant style cuisine.

Lots of very healthy options here in India too, particularly in the south. Ghar ka chicken etc bhi healthy hi hota hai.

Our life expectancy is only 68.

Lebanon life expectancy for example is 86.

I think cholesterol-induced heart problems are a more effective killer with Diabetes being a close second. All countries in the subcontinent are roughly in the same general range on that datapoint in 2025.
  1. The number of years a newborn infant would live if current mortality trends at the time of its birth were to persist throughout its life is known as life expectancy at birth.
  2. In other words, it is the average number of years a newborn should expect to live if they were subjected to the sex- and age-specific mortality rates that were in effect at the time of their birth for a particular year in a particular nation, territory, or geographic location.
  3. The current life expectancy for Nepal is 71.74 years.
  4. The current life expectancy for India is 70.42 years.
  5. The current life expectancy for Pakistan is 67.79 years.
  6. The current life expectancy for Bangladesh is 73.57 years.
These above are estimates, confirmed world bank data are shown below for 2022.

At least I'm aware that today 30% of Pakistani's are diabetic. The majority of which don't have access to proper medicare nor the funds nor the awareness to properly manage diabetes.

It's a death sentence bhai for a ghareeb to get diabetes.

Middle east 🏜 people need to keep it light. Oil and spices will fk you up good in that heat.

Up in the mountains they need more calories, mirch and oil udhar chalta hai.
Bhai I was talking about the real ME like Syria/ Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Iran and Egypt, Al-balastinian/ and now even these Al-Yahuday.......

GCC waalay to bhungi (dalit) hotay hain. They don't have any 'cuisine'.......

I seen vids of Saudia food, they have what looked like some pretty decent rice preparations, kinda pilaf style, lotsa meat but wasn't too impressed.. not like Biriyani, for which we're totally shukarguzar to the Iraandi peepal.
At the risk of doing an off topic segway, I will digress, but just this once.

Saudi cuisine borrows heavily from Lebanese, Iraqi and Syrian foods as they (Bedouins) were expert navigators of the desert.

Contrary to popular belief, there is not a lot of cholesterol in their food.

I have been to many Bangladeshi households who had spent entire lifetimes in Saudi and to be present in their house during Sehri or Iftar is a treat, which is filled with Saudi specialties to enjoy.

Instead of boring everyone, I will provide a link.

Also - my favorite Saudi treat is something called Mahalabia (Milk pudding as a desert) usually with a Jello topping.

Usually served chilled in the evening when breaking fasts (iftaar).

Like our prophet Muhammad (SAW), I also have a weakness for sweets.
