What Iran has done is actually good for Pakistan. No matter what weapons Pakistan gets, it is not going to change the equations and balance of power.
Afterall what India needs from Pakistan? We just want Pakistan not to use terrorism against India. If Pakistan stops that, India will have no reason to attack Pakistan. Today, our defence budget is almost 10 times that of Pakistan. Our economy is growing at rapid pace. By the time Pakistan gets some new weapons from other countries, India would have operationalized Laser weapons, Brahmos NG, scremjet powered missiles, MWF and AMCA perhaps. Sukhois might have got an update to super sukhois. Would what you get will be sufficient to compensate the rising power of India? Our economy is currently 12 times the economy of Pakistan. By the decade it will be 25 times the economy of Pakistan. How would Pakistan compete?

It is too late for Pakistan to choose right path and follow it. Still, Pakistan can try. I foresee a bleak future of Pakistan.
