Pak-China Alliance Drives Upgrading of the Agricultural Material Industry​

Islamabad, Jan 26, (Gwadar Pro)-In January, a Chinese delegation led by Ningbo Feidoodoo E-commerce Company, the agricultural material e-commerce platform under IBI Guolian, visited Pakistan to explore collaboration opportunities with Pakistani agricultural material companies.

The delegation held productive discussions with representatives from Auriga Group, Agrow Limited, NF Biotech and Sayban Group, etc, marking a significant milestone in China-Pakistan agricultural cooperation. During the exchanges, Tang Zhao, Cross-border E-commerce Manager at Feidoodoo Company, emphasized Feidoodoo's development strategy based on industrial e-commerce and big data. "Our company is committed to integrating cutting-edge technologies such as the internet, IoT, big data and AI into the agricultural industry." Tang Zhao also recognized Pakistan's abundant arable land resources and the significance of agriculture as a crucial sector, envisioning promising potential for international agricultural trade in Pakistan.

Liu Bo, Director of Cross-border E-commerce Transactions at Feidoodoo Company, added, "Feidoodoo aims to establish long-term and stable partnerships with Pakistani agricultural companies. With our expertise in digital systems, such as the platform aggregation model, intelligent supply chain, and cloud factory construction, we are well-positioned to support our Pakistani partners in overcoming operational challenges and driving comprehensive industry upgrades."

Mr. Abdul Sattar, Deputy General Manager of the R&D Department at Sayban Group, expressed the company's mission to provide high-quality products to farmers, contributing to the overall advancement of national agricultural development. “We hope that through the cooperation with Feidoodoo, we can jointly promote the digital development of agriculture and contribute to the global sustainable development of agriculture with industrial internet technology.”

As a result of the Feidoodoo delegation's visit to Pakistan, they successfully established preliminary cooperation intentions with several Pakistani companies, paving the way for future collaborative endeavors in the agricultural sector.
 

Pakistan's sesamum seed exports reach all-time high of USD 113 million in Oct 2023​

Pakistan has witnessed an unprecedented surge in its Sesamum seed exports, reaching an all-time high of USD 113.66 million just in October 2023. The surge not only underscores the nation's prowess in the agricultural sector but also highlights its ability to capitalize on global market demands, said Ghulam Qadir Commercial Counsellor Pakistan Embassy in Beijing.

Ghulam Qadir said that the Sesamum seed industry continues to thrive, experts attribute this remarkable achievement to a combination of favorable climatic conditions, strategic agricultural policies, and adept market positioning. This surge in exports not only reflects positively on Pakistan's economy but also positions the country as a key player in the international Sesamum seed market.

“In the first ten months of 2023, Pakistan's sesame seed exports to China increased 100% amounting to USD 170.06 million, whereas last year in the same period (January-October) it was USD 84.67 million worth of sesame seed Pakistan exported to China. In October Pakistan exported 64,711.149 tons of sesame seed to China worth USD 113.66 million while in last year's same month, it was 16,727.774 tons worth USD 25.57 million, he stated.

He further said that as per the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, China imported 97,069.705 tons of sesame seed from Pakistan in the first ten months of 2023, an increase of 72.53% by volume worth USD 170.063 million. In the same period last year, it was 56,261.629 tons worth USD 84.67 million.
It is worth mentioning that Pakistan's exports to China crossed USD 2.82 billion in the first ten months of this year, up 1.27 percent year on year.
 

Pakistan exports 10,000 buffalo embryos to China​

ISALAMABAD – In another sign of significant progress between China-Pakistan cooperation in buffalo embryo prodction and transfer, Pakistan exported 10,000 embryos to China in September, valued at $2 million, Dr Qaisar Shahzad, program manager at the Royal Cell Biotechnology (Pakistan) Co. Ltd., exporter of the embryos, told Gwadar Pro in a recent interview.

The Lahore-based RCB (Pakistan), owned by China’s Royal Group, has established a joint venture with Pakistan’s JW Group, which specialises in production and transfer of embroys of Pakistan’s superior buffalo breeds using advanced Chinese IVF technology.

In August 2023, Pakistan authorised the RCB (Pakistan) to export buffalo embryos, ova and frozen semen to China. The first consignment of 5,000 buffalo embryos was sent to China on June 8, 2024, followed by a recent second consignment of 5,000 embryos exported to China, Dr Qaisar Shahzad told Gwadar Pro.

The embryos were produced from oocytes of the buffalos present at the Royal JW Buffalo Industry Co. Laboratory in Lahore, Dr Qaisar stated. Over the next decade, China intends to import at least 300,000 buffalo embryos from Pakistan.

He said that as many as 100 jobs were created for local people in the process, and the JV has also produced another 10,000 buffalo embryos for sale in Pakistan.

Given the growing demand for buffalo milk in China and the popularity of Pakistani buffaloes for their milk quality and production volume, China intends to further enhance Pakistan’s superior buffalo breed through its advance technology.
