WIESBADEN, Germany โ
WIESBADEN, Germany โ Approximately 180 Soldiers from V Corps' 2nd Cavalry Regiment will join host country forces for Exercise Brave Partner December 1 - 10, 2023, at the Krivolak Training Area in the Republic of North Macedonia.
โShort-notice exercises like Brave Partner are a way to train in new environments and enhance interoperability,โ said 2CR Regimental Commander Col. Robert McChrystal. โThey also demonstrate the truth of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment mottoโproving we are โalways readyโ to support and defend our Allies and partners.โ
An estimated 30 servicemembers from the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia will support the exercise, which includes a live-fire range with the versatile Stryker vehicles. Exercise Brave Partner enhances regional partnerships and increases U.S. and partner force peacekeeping and combat readiness and interoperability in a realistic, multi-national training environment.
Short-notice planning events like Brave Partner help to ensure our forces and NATO allies are ready to respond to real-world contingencies throughout the region with little or no advance notice.
U.S. Ambassador to North Macedonia Angela Aggeler will attend Brave Partner with North Macedoniaโs Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska on December 7. โThe training exercise between North Macedoniaโs 1st Brigade and the U.S. 2nd Cavalry Stryker Regiment demonstrates interoperability and the invaluable collaboration between our countriesโ militaries. Once again, we see the crucial importance of joint exercises with our valued NATO ally, and the benefits they bring to regional stability,โ Aggeler stated.
