I agree with doc saab that Chinese are mostly mercantile and planter class. But so are most Indians. I wouldn't underestimate their fighting abilities. You don't need the whole country to fight. A million will do. Those many warriors you can find easily.

On the other hand, the warrior Japs have been totally made clerical class.

There is a movement there, who oppose pacifism and are hard nationalist Japs who disagree with it.
