Due to lack of sales, does Turkey plan to discontinue the product or will they just use it locally (IE, other forces, like Police)?

Vestel and their parent company Zorlu are one of the giants of Turkish economy. Lentatek is a passion project born out of a sense of patriotic duty. They don't need any money coming from this project.

That being said of course they would prefer it to be more successful.


So far 40 units of Karayel-SU are sold to Saudi Arabia which remains the only foreign customer as far as I know. There's also Lentatek Kargı a kamikaze UAV that they are developing.

There are a lot of speculations about Kargı, it may have been secretly adopted or shelved. It may be rejected due to political reasons. As everybody knows, the owner and chief engineer of Baykar is a son in law of Erdogan.

Ultimately we can't know.
