Mamdani was born in Kampala (Uganda) and came to the US when he was seven. Got naturalized in 2016 I believe. So he can't run for President. But he can be a big name for the Democrats eventually. Like AOC. He has solid support from the South Asian NYC communities - like the Sikhs, Bengalis and Pakistanis. As well as progressive educated Indians, majority born in the US.

He is worth about $200,000. Doesn't own a car. Still takes the subway to his campaign debates.

He is potentially just the mayor of NYC, for now.

Those two guys are presidents and prime ministers of large countries. Little chance their paths will ever cross with his.
