The aircraft with Ebrahim Raisi on board suffered a "hard landing," according to some media.
A helicopter on which Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was a passenger encountered a "hard landing" on Sunday, according to unconfirmed reports by Iranian state television and other media outlets.

The Interior Minister of Iran Ahmad Vahidi has reportedly confirmed that the helicopter with Raisi on board had made a hard landing in the city of Jolfa in the northwestern Iranian province of East Azarbaijan.
LIVE UPDATES: Iranian President's Helicopter Crashes in East Azerbaijan Province
According to media reports, rescuers are trying to reach the aircraft, but the situation has been complicated by heavy fog and poor terrain.
A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the country's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian has crashed in the northern Iranian region of East Azerbaijan, state-run media reported on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday, Raisi arrived in the province to join his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev to take part in the commissioning ceremony of the Khudaferin hydroelectric complex and the opening of the Giz Galasy hydroelectric complex, both on the Araz River.

My assessment is that the helicopter has really crashed. No hard landing. If it was a hard landing, the other two helicopters would have known to find its location. Itโ€™s a tough call.

Itโ€™s not official, but prepare for the very bad news.
Raisi was seen as potential future Supreme Leade.
He was thought of as a potential successor to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. It looks more like a sabotage from with the Iranian power circle.

Sorry to hear about this unfortunate event. I hope everyone is alright.
President Raisi of Iran probably didn't survive the crash. We are only waiting for the official confirmation.

What if this was a shoot down with a manpad or like Zia assassination/ covet Mossad team hiding for days in the area? There is thick jungle and all mountains over where it crashed.

I bet money the vevak would find out later that a spec ops team was scretly flown in from either the KRG or Azher-bhaija republic. And they were in place for weeks, just waiting.......They knew Raisi sahb was gonna go inaugurate that dam up north. Bewquff Irani got a huge country. Its impossible to defend a country the size of western Europe with only 80 million awaam. Western Europe has 425 million people in similar size area. Basically Iran is empty!.......Anybody can get in quietly and do this sort of stuff in thick fog.

Al Jazeera is saying that it's odd that this occurred when Iran and Azerbaijani started amending ties. Azerbaijan - a close Israel ally.

Bro check da bizarre news. The other two choppas flew on (security detail) leaving da prez choppa making an emergency landing in thick fog? over jungle?...... ๐Ÿ˜›......you see how strange this news is? ๐Ÿ˜›

So now this is turning into some 1980's hollywood filumm. President of da US plane crashes in da middle of no where.......KGB is chasing da president. He finds a patriot family home in the woods. And together they mount a super human defense against capture and at da last moment the reinforcements arrive, saving da day...... ๐Ÿ˜›

Oh bhaaaannnnchhh!........๐Ÿ˜›
Turkish drone identifies heat source in mountainous region of Iran's East Azerbaijan province
From CNN's Artemis Moshtaghian and Yong Xiong

A Turkish drone helping to search for the location where a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi crashed has identified a heat source in the mountains of the country's East Azerbaijan province, according to Iranian state media and Turkish news agency Anadolu.
The condition of those on board the helicopter is still unknown.
A burning spot has been detected and rescue forces are being sent to that area known as Tavil, the country's semi-official FARS news agency reported.
The Turkish drone identified the heat source and shares its coordinates with Iranian authorities, Anadolu reported.

Only a Muslim person reacts to salam and
Non-muslims donโ€™t know this culture. I have been posting it, and no reaction. This is how I caught a lot of non.muslim pretending to be Muslim.

Gents, unfortunately confirmed now......Raisi sahb Abdulahian sahb and many others faut ho gaey hain. I bet money Irani crash investigators don't got da expertise to find out the cause.....bewquff Iran got humbled here. I find it hard to believe this was an accident.

I hope if Israheeli finger prints on dis incident, Iran should totally demolish Israheel.

I already knew it 8 hours ago as you can see above and then I posted

It's a tragedy. Let us pray for their departed soul:

"No survivors" were found at the crash site of the helicopter carrying Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi, Iranian state news agency IRINN and semi-official news agency Mehr News reported.

Some background: A former hardline judiciary chief, Raisi was Iran's eighth president. The former prosecutor and judge was elected in 2021 following a historically uncompetitive presidential contest.

He oversaw a period of intensified repression of dissent, according to human rights monitors.

Next in the line of succession would be First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, if approved by Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Iran's Supreme Leader serves as the final arbiter of domestic and foreign affairs in the Islamic Republic, dwarfing the powers of the country's president.

Unlike his predecessor, the moderate former President Hassan Rouhani, Raisi had fostered a close alliance with Khamenei. Many Iranians believed Raisi was being groomed to one day succeed the ailing 85-year-old Khamenei.

CNN's Tamara Qiblawi contributed reporting to this post.

Just a few days ago Iran offered its nuclear technology to neighboring Muslim countries. I reckon it did not go well with America and Israel. I sense that it was not a helicopter crash. America and Israel have killed Raisi and others to stop Iran from proliferating its nuclear technology to other Muslim countries. Besides, Iran has been playing an important role in Israel and Hamas war by aiding Hamas, Hezbollah and Houthi fighters, which could be another reason for America and Israel to remove Raisi once and for all. It's a big loss for the Muslim world. By the way, have you noticed the helicopter that was carrying Raisi was Bell-212, which is an American helicopter.

It is not an accident but a sabotage. When the president and the foreign minister together are on the same helicopter, that is not a co-incident. It was designed. I strongly believe Iranian high officials are also somehow involved.

Bhai something is not right. My gut feel is this like Zia ul huq type dramaโ€ฆโ€ฆin our case the CIA did a total regime change/ decapitation operationโ€ฆ..in one fell swoop/ overnight regime change for us back in 1988. Sub khatam!โ€ฆ..Iโ€™m fairly certain the Mossad has penetrated the IRGC.

Although everyone talks about the usual suspects, Israel and the USA, if we know the modus operandi of the Iranian regime, we can not rule out an internal power struggle within the Iranian government. Being myself a long-time observer of Iran, I know how it works. It would be great to discuss this matter with an Iranian knowledgeable person. @Aryobarzan @Ario

You are right in your observation. But in this Mosad was not alone. CIA was also involved in the Raisi killing.

Mossad is just a poor mercenary who lives on American taxpayers' money. When the CIA / MI6 can not openly do something, they pay Mossad for their dirty jobs. Actually, the CIA/MI6 does everything, but sometimes Mossad gets paid to take responsibility. Otherwise, Israelis are beggars like any other third-world people.

Iran should avenge this in the most heinous/ruthless way and without mercy. If in fact it is established that the choppa was downed or sabotaged. This is not something to take lightly. I think we are all fairly confident that the IRGC has been compromised from within. How is it that the other two choppaโ€™s went home? Unless they saw that Raisi sahbs choppa was hit and destroyed? Lot of unanswered questions and mysteries right now. I believe Irans been caught out unprepared, not expecting an attack like this. Bewquff Iran had no clue what the Zionists were thinking of doing.

We do not know what happened to that helicopter's flight data recorder (FDR). No one even cares to ask. The Iranian government has not said anything about the cause of the crash yet.
History says that whenever a president gets killed anywhere in the world, there is never a satisfactory investigation or explanation. Not a single investigation was even done with sufficient satisfaction. Those incidents remain a mystery forever. This simply means that people who are supposed to investigate these incidents have somehow a hand in them or significant conflicts of interest. Quickly calling everything an accident without any investigation also points to some people's sheer nativity or cunningness.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in the Iranian embassy in Islamabad on Monday afternoon and was welcomed by Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghaddam.
Sharif also signed a book opened in memory of late President Raisi and his martyred colleagues.

The Iranians are too stubborn to admit it. This was an epic mistake to use such an outdated helicopter for such a long time. Other than that, it cannot be ruled out that foreign hands were involved.
