I've heard for a while that gair mazhabis are prominent in Iran, but must keep up appearances, or else danda will be do to them. Plenty faithful Shi'ite there too.If the Zoro's take over the bit from the Atheists and no denominations.......Iran will turn Zoroastrian again. Cuz then its already the majority......Its a mere marketing the brand issue left now......
Zoros got the strongest foundation there as is among the believers and history/ culture/ civilization/ language ownership.......cuz all the other faiths are losers no? cuz theys got no credentials and their CV is junk now.

Another thing to keep in mind is 'cultural mazhabiness', I put myself in that category. Dharmi in name only, no rules following, no lifestyle living, borderline atheist, kinda spiritual.. good thing we have a category for that in our ancient texts.. there are many many atheistic schools in our tradition. I guess I'd fit right into one of them, details nahi pata, nor care about

Little bit is ok, its kinda like the glue that holds a people together. For a lot of us, literally everyone I count as friend, Diwali = Daru and Kebabs for us
