We knew an attack was coming for weeks.

They have their fanatical followers in your society. Lets call them sleeper cells on standby.

But that is hardly any strategic depth of note when you consider the vast span of proxy control they operate in the middle east.

I believe Iran neutralizes the Saudi influence in Pakistan.

They do not want YOU to attack them and open another flank when one is not necessary.

Pakistan may be Sunni dominant, but you do have a sizable Shia population.

And the mullas hate us and openly call Zoroastrianism the biggest threat to Iran. But by and large politically have been astute with India, and cold towards Pakistan. I think its the sectarian thing there kicking in. No other explanation.
