Bangladesh Army is inducting Czech Republic-made Ultra Modern CZ Bren-2BR assault rifle with technology as its next assault rifle with eventual licensed production at BOF. Although several rifles participated in the army's trials, the performance of CZ Bren was the best. These will replace the old AK series rifles currently in use.

These are probably the most modern assault weapon used by any army currently in the subcontinent.

These CZ Bren-2BR assault rifles will be used in the future instead of BD-08 as an auxiliary standard along with the Bangladesh-made BD-08 rifle.
