More than a year after being sentenced in multiple case.

Islamabad —

Richard Grenell, a close confidant of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, has garnered substantial media and political attention in Pakistan due to his persistent social media posts advocating for the release of the country’s former prime minister, Imran Khan.

The situation escalated on November 26 when the Pakistani government unleashed a violent crackdown in Islamabad to disperse opposition protesters who were demanding Khan’s release. This prompted Grenell to express his support on the social media platform X, tweeting, “Free Imran Khan!”

Although his initial post received limited attention, it was amplified by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, or PTI, party and its supporters on December 15, when Trump appointed Grenell as his special envoy for global missions in the incoming administration.

IK for his life wasn’t allowed to do jack shiit and all he was used for was to introduce erthaghrool ghazi drama.

"All the educated Pakistanis sapport IK" .. bit of a sweeping statement, that. Maybe all the ones you know/in your circle do.

You're the expert on Pk politics here, but from what I figured, man got too big for his boots and forgot who real power there really lies with, and has, since azaadi.. the men in wardi. That's just how its always been, IK forced the dragon out of it's den.

Galat logon se panga le lia.

and that Erthagul thing was hilarious, there was such frenzy around it at the old forum. We ancient civilizations had owr our local Ramayan and Mahabharat way back in the day. These days there's all sortsa cartoons for the wee ones and TV shows, movies, and animated ones on manner of our ancient lore.

As I said before, the hypocrisy of IK's supporters is breathtaking. How is this blatant US interference any different than what IK claimed earlier? Or is it that we are supposed to welcome only that interference that suits our chosen demagogue?

If this is indeed true, what Grenell is reportedly trying to do is just as blatantly wrong as what IK had claimed previously - interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan.

You really should quote that entire story from VOA, but that is perhaps too much to expect.

Oh bhai IK is not a savior no?......everybody knows......same isstory everywhere no?

IK is just a pawn being used by the west to get the Pakistani establishment to do as told.

You guys had the USSR shupa-pawa to fully back yous up when it got tough (1950's till the 1980's), and we had a non existent agri-economy and a half willing US and weak US puppet China to some extent.

Now USSR is long gone and China's shown us its 'gaandd' (basically k aap duffa ho)....cuz yous got no initiative nor the drive.

wtf can IK do in this situation?......sweet fukk-all he can do here.

Tasbeeh bead counting and erthaghrool dramay and king turdo-gan, talibunny loving along with multiple shadian/ mazhabi bukvaas got him very badly discredited.

There is a theory, k IK sb was a Fauz project to begin with. That they much preferred a back in the shadows, behind the scenes role, Niazi fit the bill perfectly.. immensely popular with the awaam, a well spoken decent face to present to the world, he knew intimately (ahem) .. how the west worked.. etc.. but man got too big for his boots.

Back in the ol' cold war days you guys had the jump on us, thanks to Unkill Sam's largess. Unko bhi kaam tha, Soviet Afghan Rambo war waala.. there was peace in Pakistan, and prosperity, western markets full access.. latest F- 86 se le ke F-16 fighter zets, all the good trappings of capitalism.

We were greebs, half sheltered behind the iron curtain and adhering to their economic ways largely.. we were commie hijab wearers at any rate, even if not fully draped in red hammer and sickle niqab and burqas, maintained some semblance sovereignty at the very least.

Steam engines ka bhi ek zamana tha, right ?

Very unfortunately, such an ecosystem is created in Pakistan where you can do anything in the name of Islam. No matter whosoever comes to power, it won't work. A military general or dictator only can make Pakistan batter. The diverse fundamentalism in Pakistan can only be handled with brutal power. I do not see any hope in Pakistan though I wish Pakistan to be a prosperous country.

Nehru was no commie though. And neither was the Congress.

Although India has had a communist party since the 1930's.
Post azadi, we had 2 options.. had to take one, we went with the red one.

Sure, he wasn't a full blown commie, but was much enamoured by it. Abhi bhi, the guiding principles of the La Dinastia are deeply rooted in left wing socialist thought.

Iron Lady Indira, famously, amended and added "socialist" to our big book of rules.

He laid a solid foundation......remember his slogan;.....

I will give education to all Indians, regardless of their caste!
