My concept of God is slightly different. I don't know if I think correctly or not. When we invent something in the world, we copyright it and then proudly claim that we invented this car or a plane. Nobody doubts that you are not an inventor and nobody asks stupid questions like "Grow grass in the car or the diamonds should come out of its fuel tank and then we will believe you that you are the inventor". People accept the reality and give credit to the inventor.
When Allah has created/invented everything, he also claims that he is the creator. But we historically asked stupid questions to him like do this miracle or that miracle? Take a camel out of this land or do the two pieces of the moon. Ideally, we should believe in God and accept reality just like we accept the person who made inventions in this world. When we have accepted that Allah is the true creator, then these questions of why fast, why pray or why do this and that becomes irrelevant. That is why I probably never searched enough about when the Ramadan began or why it happened, I believe in Allah and I believe in his commandments. If he asked me to fast, I would do it as he commanded
