Considering that a good portion of Iran's military budget is wasted on her Arab proxies (some reports indicate up to $5 billion annual with Hezboallah alone receiving $2 billion annually!! o_O) I think we all will be waiting a long time to see anything in the KAAN class from Iran aviation.

My estimate is that KAAN up to this stage (first prototype flight test) has cost Turkey around 1 to 1.5 billion dollars which is well within the Turkish or even Iranian budgets however Turkey has a "Nationalist" president that puts Turkey interests first..Iran in other hand has a ""Islamist" dictator that puts foreign interests (arabs) first...As such Iranian national projects all suffer from lack of funding and priority due to funds being spent outside of Iran .... Turkish aviation project gets first rate attention by your government and president as is expected from a legitimately elected government , Iranian aviation projects linger and get verbal blah blah from a traitor regime...The Unmanned version of F-313 was supposed to be flying past July ..no news (I guess funds had to go to supply Houthies!!! to fight world's supper power!!!..lol)

Any how..Well done to Turkey..road to full production is still long but as long as you have Erdogan behind it you will get there (I know you do not like him but hey compared to our traitor regime he looks like the most Nationalist leader ever..lol).:p

Congratulations to Turkey, a great achievement. Kaan will become a great 5th generation fighter jet once its inducted, I expect more updates when more prototypes take their flight. Hopefully by 2030 the plane should be ready for induction, with all avionics, weaponry fully ready, the engine will be a big challenge, but another decade should bring Turkey close to their dream.

We spend about as much on Syrians so I understand the sentiment.

How bad things in Iran must be that a arabophile president like Erdoğan looks like a nationalist compared to your leaders :D

This was the first ever prototype, not even intended to fly we modified and flied it anyway.

On second prototype I expect diverterless air intakes, a higher MTOW value and I expect those big bulges under the wings to go away

Also bomb bay doors and weapons release will have to be tested, maybe we'll see a "beast mode" in the third prototype (pure speculation)
