Hey guys,

If you have played cricket, was it with real ball (requiring pads, gloves, etc) or with tennis ball or the rubber ball?

Played a LOT of tennis

I was fuss in red ball (or all the other kids were better)

dear uncle of mine, RIP, was a ranji guy, played couple of games and was good friends with Bishen Singh Bedi.. another uncle of mine in Miami played some casual club cricket in America with Jeff Dujon.

my red ball coach was gurcharan singh, he told me to gtfo 🤣 (never practiced, only turned up for games, didn't even buy a kit.. i was a horrible "cricketer")

this one time I showed up to meet my real cricketer friends who were training and turned my arm around vs the 'salwan boys' school team.. they were the best of the best in the circuit, sabki fat-tee thi unke naam se hi. I bowled off spin in the nets and unke 2 great batsmen ko out kar dia, bowled.

/true story

its all in the flight and the pivot of the hip, you gotta swivel on your toes to put some magic on your gaend.

I know my cricket, bish ;)

Speaking of Bombay's red rubber ball, Bombay / Maharashtra is the only place in the country where underarm cricket is common. If you tell about underarm cricket to other people they find it strange.

Because its the only place where galli cricket is played. And was invented. Because you have to be an overcrowded island of 20+ million people to have gallis like Bombay. And you cannot hit high without smashing someones window or decapitate someone.
