You must understand that any hooliganism of 6 decade back by a group cannot be compared to disallowing a party which was a ruling party for 3 terms to contest even election. This farce of democracy shall be good enough only to appease local radical groups. You can never be respected or treated like a genuine democracy. BD is exactly on the same path of Pakistan. Like Pakistan has stopped IK to contest election in Pakistan, BD is planning to stop Awami league to contest election. All those who were calling Hasina's election fake and fabricated are in favor of stopping Awami league to contest even election.

Surely you jest. Bangladesh is (even at this time of revolution) not a radical country. There is some decency and rule of law in most places.

Sure - I can personally see why Indian media or Hindutvas would want to paint Bangladesh as a Jihadi and radical country.

It's not even the question of allowing AL to compete in elections.

Most of them have corruption lawsuits hanging (proven) which they used to enrich themselves.

A significant portion of the AL politicians also have murder charges and were proven to have committed crimes against humanity.

Their chances of coming back to power are near zero - no one in Bangladesh sympathizes with these people. They have completely lost the public mandate. Period.

India has to find other Ullus to do their bidding in Bangladesh. Good luck with that.
