I don't believe there is enough information available to Indians to judge J20 capabilities. Just my opinion.

Maybe you can inform them by providing more videos and stats.

I personally am very interested as this has a fair chance of getting inducted into the Pakistani and other regional air forces in another couple of years - given export approval from your govt.

China had sacked the designer of J20. That is its capability. It is the only fifth generation plane which uses canard. It has inferior weapons. Substandard AESA radar, inferior electronic and uses cheap copy of 3 decade old Russian engines. Su 30 had detected J20 from a very long distance with its powerful PESA radar. This is the reason why Indian airforce has never taken this plane seriously and has not tried to build any counter strategy to counter it.

Cant say for certain but I doubt the J 20 will be made available even to friendly nations by China.

Capabilities aside, its a prestige project, the queen of the stable (and maybe a hangar queen too, no idea lol)

They want to project it's mystique, the pinnacle of Chinese military fighter aviation. Packed with bleeding edge electronics and weaponry too sensitive to be trusted with anyone else.

As usual, and is is the case with almost anything that comes out of China, all this drama about J 20 is also a cheap COPY of the F 22.

This news created quite a buzz and questioned its stealth characteristics. The F-22 has 0 registered kills in its name (not considering the 2023 unidentified balloon shoot-down) but it is still considered by almost all as the best-ever 5th-gen fighter jet such is its stealth technology, maneuverability, avionics and accuracy of weapon systems. That’s because despite no real-time combat kills, the Raptor has smoked off numerous ‘enemy aircrafts and weapon systems’ without even appearing on radar in various aerial multilateral drills participated by the US Air Force. But such is not the case for the J-20. China has always true its custom has kept its cards close to its chest and there’s no drill or performance records available to public. So as much as of a versatile and capable the J-20 might be for the China, as a single aircraft it doesn’t pose as grave of a threat as one might think of. The more concerning issue is that the PLAAF as a whole is head and shoulders ahead of IAF and their sheer advantage in all generations of aircraft dominate this parameter.

India uses AESA on its small missiles. So forget about it. Chinese AESA is air cooled which clearly indicates lower energy consumed and lower detection range. Even Pakistan is not happy with Chinese supplied Electronics and wants to put some western stuff in it.

don't worry. In order to give you a clear understanding of China's aviation electronics technology. J-10C is flying 300km away from New Delhi. Pakistan will also receive the J-35A You can see China's secrets more clearly...

by my troth. Indians will have close contact with Chinese avionics technology in both the east and west directions.

Regarding the copy of F-22. We usually call it KF-21, KAAN, Or AMCA in 2725.
