Short Summary: The India-Bangladesh relationship is in trouble. Just a year ago, Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina declared that the two countries were enjoying a “golden period” in their relationship. Over the last 10 years, the two countries had helped beat back militant groups, resolved a thorny boundary agreement and signed a number of infrastructure and power deals. All of these achievements brought India and Bangladesh closer than they had been for decades. And then, everything changed in August 2024 when Sheikh Hasina’s government collapsed.
Title is insulting for Bangladesh. It conveys the message that BD is a very week country which can be gained or lost by even a small power like Pakistan. It shows BD as a very weak nation.

No one is denying this, Bangladesh is definitely weak militarily compared to countries like India.

However Indian leaders and military should not try to test the resolve of the Bangladeshi people. They may not like the results.

India had always been friendly to BD since it's creation. However, there has been unnecessary provocation from BD side particularly since Yunus came to power. Look what he did. He went to China , offer them based near Indian border, told that India's north east is land locked and only BD has access to sea. He urged China to expand its interest in the region. Yesterday, India slapped sanction on BD on transhipment facilities provided by India. If you try to provoke India try to act against the interest of India, it will have the consequences. BD has a history of returning Indian favor with betrayal.

I think Indian leaders are trying to paint Bangladesh as a hostile bogeyman, when nothing could be further from the truth. No one in Bangladesh cares about who attacks whom in India, whether Congress wins next or Kejriwal gets KLPD'd by BJP or any other BS.

Let me lay it down for the semi-educated people in India who are andhbhakt Modi voters.

Bangladesh' (and Dr. Yunus') current prerogative is to provide jobs for Bangladeshis, they are dead serious about this - hence the investment summit happening right now and the overtures to Chinese and Korean investors. The NE seven sisters comment was done for that reason, not to get Modi's panties in a twist or to get Doval and Motabhai invent an issue out of it to distract Indians from their current problems. Investments and jobs have always been important in Bangladesh and we even include other regional countries in that planning. Whether the seven sisters leaders agree or not (most of them are BJP people) ultimately having Bangladesh as a partner in their industrialization is natural and inevitable.

If landlocked Nepal, Bhutan and seven sisters can set up industries and can export through Bangladesh ports (which are much closer to NE India than other India ports) where is the issue? This is help for Indians by Bangladeshis - and you still have problems with it?

Jobs bhai - jobs! What has Modi ever done for providing jobs to semi-skilled and unskilled Indians? Is the wish only to stay behind Bangladesh forever in per-capita-GDP nominal and still call yourself a superpower? To harass foreign investors and drive away investments? I have never seen a group of people like Indians who are so uninterested in improving their lot.

Is this how India will become a superpower? By being dead-last in the hunger-index behind every country except those in sub-Saharan Africa and having no proper jobs for its poor? The NE is probably the least industrialized area in India and no Indian entrepreneur wants to set up business there.

Obviously uneducated Indians have no idea about the stature of Dr. Yunus and what his life's work is. In India no Nobel laureate has any respect which figures...who cares about jobs and poverty alleviation when you have a liar Godi media trumpeting BS day and night and cover up current economic issues in India.

India has elected leadership which is very famous for their balanced approach keeping good relationship with all countries from both the side. BD has a para dropped puppet. Just see what he did in China visit and his unnecessary bluff on North east India inviting China to come and dominate the region. He took the name of seven Indian states without any reason just to provoke India. When you intentionally try to provoke a good friend like India, it will have the consequences. Do not expect a big powerful neighbor to not to react to your unnecessary provocation leading to security concern of India. India hit back by withdrawing all logistic support for BD export using Indian infrastructure. More harsh actions will follow if BD try to play with Indian interest which can even lead to threat to BD sovereignty.

What friggin' "consequence"? 😀

India under Modi will do jack $hit except whining in its media which no one in Bangladesh cares about. India does not have any pawns left in Bangladesh to manipulate its politics. Massive failure of Modinomics and RAW-inspired foreign policy, its puppet Hasina was kicked out.

Copium sewan karke so jao bhai.

Just watch your collective backs for Modi getting subject to deep state treatment.

Bangladesh has moved away from this purani idiotic game of territorial dakhal-dari to integrating with the global economy. When sense returns to Indian leadership, then come back.
