me against my brother, but me and my brother together against another...
that old Arab idiom thingy you are quite familiar with.
Don't let people put words in my mouth. Or hijack my utterances.
People who diss other people do it because of their inner insecurities - to feel good by putting people down.
I am saddened by your caricature of Tamil or other South Indian languages but cannot criticize your behavior because at one time I foisted this immaturity myself. However I am trying to correct myself. Putting people down cannot lead to self glorification. We all must understand this fact.
Entire races and ethnicities of folks (Tamil, Andhra, Karnataka and Keralan people) cannot be reduced to language or behavioral caricatures, it makes us (who do it) look bad - fact.
Southern Indian achievements in architecture, science, literature and music are undeniable - they also found their way to Bengal via the rulers in Sena and Pala empires who controlled the majority of North Indian territories.
The Pala stronghold was located in Bengal and eastern Bihar, which included the major cities of Gauḍa, Vikramapura, Pāṭaliputra, Monghyr, Somapura, Ramavati, Tāmralipta and Jagaddala. The Pālas were astute diplomats and military conquerors. Their army was noted for its vast war elephant corps. Their navy performed both mercantile and defensive roles in the Bay of Bengal.
Southies have their own culture which fascinates me - not the least because Bengal (Bangladesh) and Southies have cultural connections that go back thousands of years. I am a fan of Carnatic music as well.
