Is the issue with Bangladesh and India as bad as Pakistan and India, or am I missing something here?
No this is not true at all. Bangladeshi citizens just realized that they were not properly represented in the former regime. Hence the coup.

India/ Pakistan rivalry is on a whole diff level.

There is no equal to India/Pak rivalry. Iran vs Israel is just politics. Once Iran subdues an itty bitty two bit Israel, there will be no drama.

Yeah nowadays it is at a pretty low ebb - especially after India-leaning Hasina was ousted from Bangladesh...

I'd say even worse than Pakistan, if you see Indian media (mostly govt. and Modi-leaning) spewing daily vitriol against Bangladesh (fact).

I'd reckon that's because Indians know the Pakistanis can defend themselves pretty well. But they see Bangladesh as some sort of rag tall dog they attempt to throw around?

India is the only terrorist country in South Asia with whom all the neighbors are having bad relations.

I have to admit that this bad relations with neighbors thing is indeed the case - even Indian political analysts admit it.

The correct word would be under-estimation and attempted control militarily/politically - which was a failure, as shown by Hasina's ouster.

But after a lot of hot air and accompanied chagrin, Indian top administration (BJP) has now come to their senses and trying to smooth feathers and normalize relations.

At stake is a large amount of trade, close to $40 Billion annually, mostly to Indian advantage. India will not risk this.
