We consolidated India's national security by gaining independence from Pakistan.

You actually created Pakistan.

Then got the short end of the racial stick from the taller fairer stronger better looking and much better fighting Punjabis who jumped your bandwagon.

And then you got rescued by the same Hindus and Parsis and Jews and Christians and Sikhs who you said you could not live with.

You or anyone else would be mad then to believe that we would take you back.

@Bilal9 remember one thing bro. Indians are nationalists inherently. And India is 80% Hindu.

Indians are also capitalists inherently, and will always be chasing benefit and profit.

These two go hand in hand.

Bangladesh with its population will always be looked at well by India as long as two things do not change:

1) Bangladesh economy and its ability to honor payments on time

2) The safety of Hindus and not working against Indian interests

If either of that change, you will see a Pakistanification of Bangladesh by India.

With the same end results.

You bring much amusement to me. :)

What's the point of these threats? No one in Bangladesh gives two $hitz.

You've been watching too much Republic TV.

The days when threats and subterfuge could sway Bangladeshis to 'tow the line for India' is long gone.

Loooooong gone (since 1975 to be exact). Just chill and realize the new reality. Bangladesh is not Nepal or Sri Lanka or Bhutan. Indian extremists need some attitude adjustments.

India groomed Hasina - attempting to turn Bangladesh into a new vassal, but that costly attempt is now gone too (RAW effed up big time in Dhaka and could not "protect" Hasina). Where is your ire for Ajit Doval and company? They effed up - Hindutvas need to question their administration.

Global power equations have changed. As usual Indian sub-par leadership was caught sleeping.

Why don't Hindutva fanatics complain to the US? Seems they don't want you to do Khabardari in Bangladesh. Power is shown in actions, not empty threats.

I guess US can cut off Backoffice business to India and it'll be back to 3% Hindu rate of growth again.

This is embarrassing. Please read history.

India (Manekshaw) did the least possible for the best possible outcome.

Indian Army crossed EP border in December 3 (well onto onset of winter), by which time the Muktis had restricted a much weaker and smaller Pakistani force to regional cantonments.

India came in only to accept the surrender papers from Niazi in December. Other than one tank battle in Western Bangladesh, Indian Army did very little fighting at all.

Muktis did 90% of the fighting which was 90% guerrilla warfare of attrition and ambush. Indian actions were limited to assisting the Muktis with war materiel until rainy season ended.

Manekshaw knew extremely well that they could not enter Bangladesh during floods, Indian army would get drowned and decimated.

Ergo, we in Bangladesh helped India achieve Indian objective. if we did not want Indian involvement, then India would not have a snowflakes chance in hell.

Current propaganda about India fighting a heroic battle in East Pakistan is mostly fiction. If they entered EP in 3rd December after declaring war (only after Pakistanis bombed Agra in belligerence), that gave them less than two weeks before they accepted surrender from Niazi, who was totally out of food rations as well as ammunitions. Very little warfighting was done by India in those ten days.

That's exactly my point!

The butchering and mass raping stopped when we finally came in.

Give me a break with your sanctimonious guilt tripping.

You were a people who decided to break away from us.

Not only decided, but actually spawned the movement which the feudal Punjabis latched on to for their own aims.

That we helped you should be more than enough.

Get down on your knees and say a sincere thank you.

Or don't.

We got what we set out to do.

Ripped you in two.

And permanently consigned the Two Nation Theory to the annals of history.

Bhai VSDoc - you are a laugh a minute.... :D

Not lies. She was India's PM.

She owed you nothing.

That you got a country gratis, be grateful.

We spent our own blood and treasure.

What treasure?
  • These days Illegal Indian workers (some 26 lakh reportedly) remit almost close to 5 Billion plus from Bangladesh yearly. Real number probably a lot higher since that figure is from five years ago - according to an Indian source.
  • India exports almost 15 Billion of FMCG products which we allow to be sold locally.
  • Then Bangladeshis travelling to India for Medical and Retail tourism brings in almost 20 Billion to Indian coffers. This pattern has been going on for 50 years.
This equates to 40 Billion plus India nominally makes from Bangladesh every year and has been making proportionally every year for 50 plus years. Are you for real ??

Gratitude? Really?

In return,
  • India restricts Bangladesh exports to its shores by imposing non-tariff barriers on all sorts of goods. I belong to the chambers in Dhaka and Chittagong, these are facts that are well-known in Bangladesh.
  • India also shoots Bangladeshis dead at the border like birds, which is contrary to all Int'l border conventions. Arrests are okay - deaths are not.
  • India unilaterally withdraws water from upper riparian areas, in contravention of all int'l laws. This has turned entire Northern area of Bangladesh into a desert.
  • India unilaterally (without notice) opens up Dam floodgates, causing floods in Southern areas.
  • Myriad other bilateral issues coming from Indian side - which is totally inept and irresponsible.
  • India has no friends left in South Asia.
India milked Bangladesh for fifty two years unilaterally with exports of agri-goods, industrial products and even FMCG products of every sort imaginable. This prevented our self sufficiency and industrial capability. It set up obedient commerce ministers in every Bangladeshi administration and strong-armed them to the hilt.

Not only that, India tried to use our logistics infra for free by using Hasina. She built all these six lane freeways for use by Indians to go back and forth to the NE seven sisters and to use our ports in the last fifteen years. Thank Allah this is stopped now.

Now considering all this, the fact that some Bangladeshis consider Indian Govt. to be a friend, is the amazing part. Not well-deserved at all.

That day of India exploiting Bangladesh is now long gone. No more milking Bangladesh. Walaikum Tafaat.

So what you're saying is that Bangladesh is no different to Middle Eastern or African savages.

Got it bhai.

And then you are surprised at the basket case prophecies.

It is high irony that you call Middle Eastern people (mostly Arabs) "savages" when the majority of your remittance (which your 3rd world country essentially runs on) comes from these countries.

Have some gratitude. Without Gulfie Arab money, all the RSS Shakhas would close.

Now Indians and their Godi Media have been screaming in overdrive about "predik-sun" on whether Bangladesh becomes a basket case (or likely not). Republic TV and their clowns are a treat.
