[🇧🇩-Navy] Myanmar's Naval Cooperation with India and China----It's implications for Bangladesh Navy

Such immature behavior from the top leadership of a nation as big as India only goes to prove their incompetence. Unlike China with a 5000 year old well-disciplined and successful administration (which did face issues at various times in history), the record for India is questionable at best since the British left. Even the defence sector for such a massive economy has few if any achievements compared to China which is now rivaling that of the US with 6th Gen. fighters and bombers (J36 and J50).

Their administration is sadly only floating on thinly supported bubbles of untruths and propaganda at best to hide the massive incompetence, corruption and mismanagement.

Indians (especially their poor) deserve so much better. Most Indians are thinking of leaving in massive numbers, a good number have left.

Little surprise that Mamata Banerjee (WB CM) quipped about the recent Mahakumbh mela that it was a "Mrityu Kumbh" (Death Trap). 100 Million people converging in a disorganized place of muck and filth with no health or safety concern by the authorities in charge. Death toll is 30 confirmed and over 60 injured.

Sorry for the off topic foray, don't want to attract comments from the usual suspects.
Our navy lacks frigates with true capabilities. We need to retire old Chinese frigates and procure new generation Chinese frigates such as Type 054B. According to a retired two star General of Bangladesh army, IA's artillery is a serious concern for BA. We are lagging behind in air power also.

Well correcting these gaps are going to take time. How is the Army, Navy and Air Force planning the remediation of the gaps?

Does Forces goal 2030 even begin to cover it? How should we get started in dealing with their artillery? I thought we had gotten some Turkish stuff.

Hasina's long term sucking up to Modi did some serious damage, we should've concentrated on a missile program like Pakistan long ago, maybe now is a great time to cover the lost time.

I don't think that plan anticipated Myanmar Junta's bonhomie with India in terms of defence cooperation, which I think should be included in the planning.

Unless our armed services have a plan and roadmap, how can we begin to look at the holes?

Let me study the Forces goal 2030 - then we can discuss. You can as well.

Much obliged and Thanks! I will research this, starting with artillery. You are talking about Howitzers or missiles (Turkish TRG300 and TRG230)?

As far as I know artillery consists of howitzers, MLRS and missiles. We are lagging behind India in artillery department. There was a talk of procuring Bora/Khan 300km short range ballistic missiles from Turkey a few years ago. But I don't the current status of the project. By the by, Bangladesh army has ordered for 300 Otokar Cobra II APC from Turkey of which 111 units have already been delivered.

Well the Cobra II is a great platform (whole different animal compared to Cobra I in terms of MRAP) and offers autogun mounts as well as amphibious capability, great choice. We need to assemble it locally at BMTF though, to reduce acquisition costs and help indigenous skills.

We need to replace all our BTR-80s with Otokar Cobra II at the soonest. BTR-80s have no protection against IED as it has been amply evidenced in the various UN missions. We have enough engineers who are capable of manufacturing Otokar Cobra II at BMTF. So, I am for manufacturing not mere assembling of Otokar Cobra II. Thank you.
