How do you change religion once you are born as a Muslim? Being a devout Muslim does not mean one is a radical Muslim.

It means having a fear of the Lord (Allah) and living by the precepts of the holy book (Qur'an) on PRESCRIBED tradition (in this case dietary tradition), which is both very scientific and very sensible.

Living in a foreign land (as in my case) does not mean you stop being a Muslim and (on the topic of this thread) about eating Halal (which also means keeping Muslim traditions like fasting alive in the month of Ramzaan). If you are sick you are of course exempted from fasting.

Where did I say Radical?

Being that this is Ramzaan - favorite Bengali Iftaar items.

California Organic Medjool Dates to break the fast per Muhammad (SAW) tradition (they are grown less than a hundred miles from where I live and are exported to Saudi and all over the Middle East).

And to wash it all down - some Lemony Mint Sharbat and Mint tea

Haleem should be a wheat stew with meat, but hendu-pak has added pulses to it and corrupted the OG recipe. And then he also adds too much spices and oil/ fat.

Each country uses whatever they have available, customized to their affordability and taste. In Bangladesh we have adopted multiple exotic food items from foreign traders, such as Empanadas - which is a breakfast or dessert item, sometimes served at Iftaar.

I have tasted Colombian Empanadas in Southern California and I'd argue, Bangladeshi ones taste miles better, with a hint of rose and kewra water and a bit of tartness with the sweet taste.
