What sort of mission. China sends its SYP ship in IOR to monitor Indian missile test from International water. That is ok. However, if the come to IOR with any hostile motive, they will have to face volley of Brahmos, ATCR, LRASHM etc. China has no defence against it.

Can Brahmos sink an aircraft carrier?

In international waters, they can. But being an amphibious LHD, it needs to get almost one mile close to shore - so they can launch a beach invasion. Amphibious means marine-capable tanks and APCs need to be launched from the back holds of the ship which swim to shore. Air assets like large/small helis and drones can also be launched within weight limits. The second picture above in post #12 for Type 076 shows various drones and from what I can gather, J35s which can be launched.

We should not confuse helicopter carrier with aircraft carrier. I was interested to know about the capability of a non nuclear aircraft carrier. Thanx.

This Type 076 is almost as large as a medium sized US aircraft carrier and runway can be used by J35.

Being a 40,000 ton displacement ship, I'd think they are blue-water capable. In fact most large LHDs are. Brother @Jiangnan this is the Type 075 below I believe? How much larger is Type 076 Sichuan?

Type 076 is much larger than 075. in fact. The Chinese call 076 is "little type 003"

Launching volley of Brahmos, ATCR, LRASHM is one thing, but does India want a tussle with China?

If this was the case then its like starting WWIII.

No we don't want but there action many time suggest that they want to bully India like what they do to other nations. We have enough conflicts in Himalayas post Modi took the Charge. We have taught them lessons and make them retreat. Let us hope that they have learned the lesson. If they haven't, there is a possibility of re occurance of such conflict. Ofcourse, Chinese army is huge but they have offensive design. We have an advantage of defence our land from our own land.
