I thought you were referring to pork. Not a big fan of it unless it is bacon or some ham slices in a sandwich. Once ordered a pork sizzler, hated it. It was on bone, smelly, fatty.

Being that this is Ramzaan - favorite Bengali Iftaar items.

California Organic Medjool Dates to break the fast per Muhammad (SAW) tradition (they are grown less than a hundred miles from where I live and are exported to Saudi and all over the Middle East).

That is good but one thing you unknowingly admitted is that you do not only you changed the religion but you try to change tradition as well.

How do you change religion once you are born as a Muslim? Being a devout Muslim does not mean one is a radical Muslim.

It means having a fear of the Lord (Allah) and living by the precepts of the holy book (Qur'an) on PRESCRIBED tradition (in this case dietary tradition), which is both very scientific and very sensible.

Living in a foreign land (as in my case) does not mean you stop being a Muslim and (on the topic of this thread) about eating Halal (which also means keeping Muslim traditions like fasting alive in the month of Ramzaan). If you are sick you are of course exempted from fasting.
