I've had very superficial contact with proper Iranians, but those guys were outliers I'm pretty sure. Never got to ask them their mazhabi thing, rude behavior, right ? I just sorta presumed they were whatever Iran Shias (never crossed my mind at the time)..

I had known that there is at least a segment of their youth, rich urban Tehranis (baap ka paisa types) who are quite hedonistic, they coulda been jews too, no idea.
