So all those fish transported to other states ?

States as well as countries. Many guys have left fisheries in influence of Pujya Pandurang Dada and other Hindu priests. In Saurashtra region, eating non veg is very uncommon. Most of Muslims even do not consume meat or egg. In south Gujarat, meat is consumed more compared to Saurashtra. My Bengali friend has become vegetarian. His wife don't like that. I have seen many guys turning vegetarian after living in Gujarat.

Here are some descriptions of common Bangladesh dishes, there is lots of overlap with main dishes and snacks from both Indian and Pakistan. However Rosogolla and Rasmalai and many other sweets were all originated in our area (greater Bengal) as sweets were offered during Hindu Puja ceremonies and celebrations. There are specific areas where they originated. For example - Rasmalai came from Cumilla, which was the former capital of the Kingdom of Tripura (Varman Kings - yes of RD and SD Varman fame). Bengalis are inveterate connoisseurs of sweets.

Believe me, nothing test batter than Sweets. My favorite food is Pooran poli. When it is made, I do not eat anything except Puran poli. Dudhpak is one more such dish. It takes 3 hour to make but when it is made, it test batter than anything else. Gajar Halwa made in cow milk is one of their competitor. Churma Laddu is always lead the list of Mithai.

@Krishna with Flute comrade @Paitoo in having experience living and working in veggie Gujarat.

But sahi hai, my mum is totally in love with Gujarati food too, growing up, her best friend was Gujrati so she developed those tastes as a little girl.

But Mera taste alag hai, I like mulla and Punjabi style chikkan te meet sheet wagera.

Worst thing about Gujjustan is it being a dry state, total deal killer... na chikkan, na pag... anday bhi mushkil se milte ??? Wtfman

I wish Mr Loveday was here, he love Dhoklas 😆

It was eons ago I worked in Gujjuland, and only for a few months. I don't know what is the situation now. That time not easy to get non veg in Hindu areas. Some brave people were operating in malls, it was ok. In Muslim areas it's not the same as Muslim areas in say Mumbai or Delhi. Not the same taste

Chhi Chhi. Bad food. When I went to IIM Kozikde for Convocation, I witnessed a totally different culture. All other alumnae were enjoying party with Wine and non veg. I had food issue. Can not eat there. Some how managed food from somewhere and ate at some other location. Even ladies were drinking and eating Non veg and dancing. Myself and other Gujarti student were odd men out.
