The words were used by Global times when the article was published when JF 17 was new. At that time (even today) Tejas had used lot more composite than any other aircraft and it was tweaked for low RCS design in the limitation of Aerodynamics. It had a very advance flight control system and lesser numbers of parts. It had a very good Israeli radar and multiple weapon options from India, Europe, Israel and Russia. It was very good when it came. It is good even today. That is why (Perhaps) Global Times had told it an aircraft of future. It was an aircraft of future at that time and that is why it is contemporary today. JF 17 was Contemporary at that time that is why out dated today.
The design of Tejas is very old. How can it be an aircraft of the future?

My friend,

I have explained that in my early posts. It was said when JF 17 had arrived and both planes were compared. It is not something which someone has said today.

And design of Tejas is not very old. It is contemporary delta wing design with RSS unstable platform. It is based on same philosophy of Eurofighter, Rafale and Saab gripen. Infact, JF 17 is outdated design with lavcon like F16 and Mig 29. J10 is even worse than that based on rejeted design of Lavi fighter. It has poor aerodynamics and that is why it has gone through noticable design Changes in A, B and C variant. Just look at the air intakes of A, B and C variant.

The design of Tejas is 40 years old. It was first conceived in the 80s. So, your claim of Tejas being based on the same design philosophy of Eurofighter, Rafale and Saab gripen is not true.
