Can attest ! I met a wandering bunch of minstrel hippie type Iranis some seasons ago, great band, good exotic Oud and Iranian harps etc things they were carrying, fusion with rock and western.. some among them were diaspora crew, some were proper locals fropm Tehran or wherever else inside.

Ekdum full liberal, even if some of their songs were maybe mazhabi (I think, don't speak farsi)

Good people, is mulla regime ko girana hai but, so that common sense good people can take over, again.
Oh bhai if you bring the shah back right now into Iran, their foreign policy won’t change at all.

Iran won’t accept anyone sitting above it in the region.

Mulla regime same same as Shah, just cosmetic differences.

Black n white TV vs Color Tv type of diff, but da same show on.

Yes but the Shah actually was on the brink of kick starting a return to roots of the Zoroastrians, spearheaded first by their (our) business houses.

They were Shi'ites too but, the Shah's lot.. just not hard-core mullahs.

Eventually that would be a great medium.

Less hard coreness.

Jisko jo follow karna hai karo. Doosre ke choice par usko maaro kaaro mat.

Let the chips fall where they may then.

Eventually then Zoroastrians from India and Iran can intermarry peacefully and the couples settle in either country. With extended families spread across both. Easy aana jaana. Cultural and commercial and blood ties.

But all that went for a toss with the mullas.

Its just the opposite.

The centre of ultra conservative orthodoxy of blood and male/female (priesthood, conversion rights of different gender Zoroastrian parent progeny, etc.) is all India based.

India is the center of world Zoroastrianism.

With 8 of the 9 major Atash Behram fires housed here.

The shift of power happened around the 16th century.

Coinciding with Iran's conversion from Sunni to Shia Islam.

The Iranian wing since then in all matters of the religion has always been the junior arm, looking to the Indian priesthood for guidance.

Till the 16th century it was the opposite.

Indian priests would send out scrolls with their questions to Iran.

Across months, even years, the replies, un the form of detailed Riyavats, would come back from the Iranian high priests.

These form one of the backbones of the uninterrupted religion. That has been passed down by word of mouth across centuries and many generations if the Magii.

Added to that is the freedom, social status and affluence of the Parsis compared to their Irani brethren.

Across centuries we have helped them with money and social support, in the face of overt religious hostility. Many such Indians have made a mark in Iran, fighting for the rights of their Irani Zarathushtis living in Iran, under often terrible conditions. Often helping young ones get married to Parsis in India and move here, with full support of the community in the firm of money, a job, and housing in a posh Parsi baug (gated colony).

Diaspora big time look to us bro.

Or they will lose everything inside a generation.

There is a huge clamor for a proper Atash Behram in the US.

There are more Zoroastrians in the US (only) now than left in India.

Dekho.
